The Pascack Valley Regional High School hockey team, comprising of players from Pascack Valley, Pascack Hills, and Park Ridge high schools, recently held two fundraising events. The PV/PH/PR (Pascack Ice Hockey) and Westwood/River Dell/Emerson Hockey (River Dell Ice Hockey) teams held a food drive on January 29th at Sport-O-Rama ice rink in Monsey, NY. The teams collected over 22 bags of food for the Helping Hands Pantry in Hillsdale to help those locally in need.

The Pascack Ice Hockey team also held an ALS benefit night and food drive earlier in the month. Matt Mugno, a member of the team and PV’s senior class vice president, spearheaded the team’s efforts to raise money for ALS along with his senior class council members. The event took place during the team’s January 12th game and included rally towels and a slap shot competition. Over $800, which included corporate donations, was raised for the ALS foundation and eight bins of food were collected for the Helping Hands Pantry.
