Below is a letter Principal Wieland sent to all parents and students on Thursday, August 27 regarding schedules.

Parents and Students,

Student schedules will be available in Genesis later this afternoon. With our hybrid and virtual scheduling models, we now have an eight period school day. Most students will have either a "Pascack Period" or a "Study Hall" which are outlined below. Should you have any questions regarding your schedule, please reach out to your guidance counselor. A tremendous effort has been made to balance classes and cohorts. With social distancing and safety a top priority, only imperative schedule change requests will be entertained.

Pascack Period

  • Pascack Periods are in some student schedules periods 1, 4, 5 and 8.
  • Students with "Pascack Period" during period 1 or 5 may report late to school when their "Pascack Period" starts the day. These students should arrive by 9:15 for their first class of the day.
  • Students with "Pascack Period" during period 4 or 8 may leave school early when their "Pascack Period" ends the day.
  • Students who arrive at regular time or choose to remain at Hills during their "Pascack Period" may sit, socially distanced, in the cafeteria for a quiet study.

Study Hall

  • Study Halls are in some student schedules periods 2, 3, 6 and 7.
  • 9th, 10th and 11th grade students with "Study Hall" should report to the cafeteria for study hall.
  • Students will be seated with social distancing and attendance will be taken.
  • Seniors with study hall will be allowed to leave campus as part of their senior privilege.

If you have any questions pertaining to your schedule, please contact your guidance counselor. I am looking forward to seeing everyone, virtually or in person, next week.
