Fall Athletic Season

To the Pascack Hills Community, Parents and Students,

 We are very fortunate to be near the beginning of what hopes to be a very rewarding fall athletics season. The COVID-19 experience has taught us many things, and we remain focused on maintaining the health and safety of our student’s as they play the games they love. The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) and the New Jersey COVID-19 regulations as set forth by the CDC, NJDOH, NJDOE require us to make necessary adjustments to our operating procedures for athletic contests. After discussions with our superintendent, a review of the capacities of our facilities and a careful assessment of our ability to manage crowds, it has been decided that the following measures will be put in place for all sporting events this fall, regardless of level. 

General COVID-19 Fall Sports Guidelines including Girls & Boys Soccer, Girls Tennis & Cross Country:

  1. As per NJSIAA and the Governor’s executive order, outdoor gatherings cannot exceed 500 people. The total number is dependent on the capacity of the individual venue.
  2. Everyone in attendance must properly wear a mask at all times.
  3. Everyone will be required to sit in the bleachers and be socially distanced. The bleachers will be marked for your convenience.
  4. Students will not be allowed to attend any games. This includes away games as our opponents have adopted similar procedures.
  5. Spectators will be limited to parents and immediate family of those participating in the event. A soccer specific spectator list may be required if need be. 
  6. Sanitary facilities will be limited to the Port-O-Johns located in the upper parking lot. There will be no building access during athletic events. 
  7. Varsity games played at PHHS will be live streamed to our YouTube channel. 
  8. Please observe our no backpacks or bags policy. 
  9. No food will be sold at games and there will be no concession stand. We ask that you do not bring any food as well. 
  10. Non-alcoholic beverages, such as water, sport drinks, soda and coffee and tea will be permitted. The game staff and administration reserve the right to inspect these items upon request. Please clean up after yourself to reduce contact with these items by our buildings & grounds staff. 
  11. Please be cooperative with our game help staff so we can remain within the regulations placed upon us.
  12. At all events, once we have reached capacity, we will not allow any further admission into the venue. 
  13. These rules will be shared with and applied to the visiting teams as well.

Football Specific COVID-19 Guidelines. This applies to Varsity, JV and Freshman football games:

  1. All of the general guidelines above are in effect for football games.
  2. No admission will be charged or collected this season.
  3. Admission to home games will be limited to the parents of players, band members and cheerleaders. 2 tickets will be provided ahead of time. You may request a 3rd family ticket, but there is no guarantee that one will be provided. 
  4. Admission to away games will be limited to the number of tickets allotted by the host school. We project that this will be limited to the parents/immediate family of those participating.

We are extremely excited for the upcoming season and we look forward to once again seeing our Pascack Hills student-athletes compete. Let’s do our part to ensure that these games continue while ensuring a safe environment for all.
