Over the past several years, Pascack Valley Regional High School students have earned the Seal of Biliteracy in many languages! They have earned the Seal of Biliteracy in Arabic, Armenian, Chinese, French, Hindi, Korean, Japanese, Italian, Polish, Spanish & Russian.

We are in our 6th year of participation in this state program. 

Over the past several years, Pascack Valley Regional High School students have earned the Seal of Biliteracy in many languages! They have earned the Seal of Biliteracy in Arabic, Armenian, Chinese, French, Hindi, Korean, Japanese, Italian, Polish, Spanish, & Russian.

Despite these past few years with unique school environments, students from both Pascack Hills and Pascack Valley High Schools outperformed previous years in the total number of students who have earned the Seal of Biliteracy thanks to their efforts & their World Language teachers! 

Students self-nominated in the spring and again this past fall, to engage in a comprehensive language assessment (STAMP 4s) demonstrating their multilingualism to earn the NJ DOE Seal of Biliteracy & Global Seal of Biliteracy

We had 109 total students (FIFTY THREE from PVHS, FIFTY SIX students from PHHS) who earned the State & Global Seals of Biliteracy! These accomplishments were celebrated at the past Celebrate Languages ceremonies, held in Pascack Valley HS and in Pascack Hills HS in December 2021.  Students will be receiving official Seal of Biliteracy certificates in June 2022.

COVID19 Updated Guidance

WHEN TO STAY HOME: 

The New Jersey Department of Health recommends that students with the following symptoms or combination of symptoms be promptly isolated from others and excluded from school:


PLEASE STAY HOME AND NOTIFY YOUR NURSE IF YOUR CHILD HAS:

  • At least two of the following symptoms: fever (measure or subjective), chills, rigors (shivers), myalgia (muscle aches), headache, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, congestion, or runny nose;

    OR

  • At least one of the following symptoms: cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, new olfactory disorder, or new taste disorder.


REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION TO RETURN TO SCHOOL IF SYMPTOMS:


  • A medically supervised  negative  COVID19  PCR test or Rapid Antigen test is required to return to school for symptomatic individuals, even with an alternate diagnosis such as a positive strep or influenza swab.  This requirement for testing is for all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status. We can not accept home tests at this time to rule out COVID19.

  • Please notify the attendance officer or the school nurse office if your child is exhibiting Covid-19 compatible symptoms. 


IF COVID19 POSITIVE:


  • Please notify your school Nurse

  • Student will need to remain home for 5 days from symptom onset (symptom onset is considered day “0”)

  • Days 6-10: Students may return ONLY if no symptoms and fever free for 24 hours.  They must wear a well fitted mask at all time, indoor and outdoors, during this time frame while at school.

  •  Regardless of immunization status of other family members, those who are COVID 19 positive should be isolated from others in the household, if possible, for the full 10 days
