Coaches Ganz and Saxon led the Pascack Hills girls' tennis team into Flushing Meadows for a wonderful experience.  Below is a write-up our coaches provided explaining the event:

The Pascack Hills girls’ tennis team started a tradition last summer by attending the U.S. Open Qualifying rounds at Flushing Meadows. It is a wonderful team bonding experience the girls really look forward to every year, and without a doubt is one of the best kept secrets in major sporting events! Admission is free, and the girls all chip in for a nice bus.  The team gets dropped off right at the entrance at 11 a.m., and an amazing day begins. From a pure tennis standpoint, it does not get any better, and the qualifying rounds are actually more enjoyable and cheaper than the regular rounds!

The top 150 players in the world play their matches just a few feet away from where we are sitting.  The top five players in the world are all practicing on the side courts with their coaches or playing practice sets. Over the past two years we have been just a few feet away from Roger Federer, Andy Murray, and Maria Sharapova just to name a few.  Novac Djokovic even came walking by us while we were there.  All the concession stands are open getting ready for the main draw, and the girls get to have a great and MUCH more personal tennis experience.

We all cannot wait to get back next year!
