Celebrate Languages Induction Ceremony

On Thursday, December 1st, the Celebrate Languages Ceremony will take place at 7:00 PM in the Pascack Hills Auditorium. Administration, faculty, staff, and families are cordially invited. Students will be recognized for earning the NJ DOE Seal of Biliteracy in one or more languages and/or being inducted into the Chinese, French, Italian, or Spanish National Honor Societies.

This year, Pascack Hills High School students have earned the NJ DOE Seal of Biliteracy and Global Seal of Biliteracy in many different languages.

A candidate to a World Language Honor Society must be a senior at Pascack Hills High School who:

  1. has had three years of the respective world language in high school. 

  2. is currently placed in Level IV, IV Honors, V or AP.

  3. has maintained at least a 3.7 GPA in the world language.


Members of the honor societies provide ongoing peer tutoring, free of charge, as part
of their membership in this organization. Other honor society activities include a Thanksgiving Food Drive, community volunteering, collecting donations, and fundraising events. Members of each honor society receive a cord from the national chapter of the respective honor society to wear with their caps and gowns at graduation.

World Language Supervisor, Noemi Rodriguez, organizes this event along with the advisors.

COVID19 Updated Guidance

WHEN TO STAY HOME: 

The New Jersey Department of Health recommends that students with the following symptoms or combination of symptoms be promptly isolated from others and excluded from school:


PLEASE STAY HOME AND NOTIFY YOUR NURSE IF YOUR CHILD HAS:

  • At least two of the following symptoms: fever (measure or subjective), chills, rigors (shivers), myalgia (muscle aches), headache, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, congestion, or runny nose;

    OR

  • At least one of the following symptoms: cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, new olfactory disorder, or new taste disorder.


REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION TO RETURN TO SCHOOL IF SYMPTOMS:


  • A medically supervised  negative  COVID19  PCR test or Rapid Antigen test is required to return to school for symptomatic individuals, even with an alternate diagnosis such as a positive strep or influenza swab.  This requirement for testing is for all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status. We can not accept home tests at this time to rule out COVID19.

  • Please notify the attendance officer or the school nurse office if your child is exhibiting Covid-19 compatible symptoms. 


IF COVID19 POSITIVE:


  • Please notify your school Nurse

  • Student will need to remain home for 5 days from symptom onset (symptom onset is considered day “0”)

  • Days 6-10: Students may return ONLY if no symptoms and fever free for 24 hours.  They must wear a well fitted mask at all time, indoor and outdoors, during this time frame while at school.

  •  Regardless of immunization status of other family members, those who are COVID 19 positive should be isolated from others in the household, if possible, for the full 10 days
